Course Description
This course is designed for high school students interested in exploring the field of public health, a valuable and practical field that covers the intersections of medicine, public policy, and societal impacts on health. Students will gain a foundational understanding of public health principles, major health issues, and the role of public health in society both nationally and globally. Examining historical and modern case studies, students will understand how the field of public health can be used to mitigate health problems among diverse populations. The course will include a final project for students to apply public health perspectives to solve a real-world problem, encouraging innovative thinking to identify strategies to facilitate healthy populations around the world.
