Course Description
Learn the art of political speech writing where words have to power to inform, persuade, and inspire. Students will discover how speech writing plays a central role in political careers—from campaign communications and policymaking to public service and advocacy. This essential skill is a valuable tool for anyone interested in a future in leadership and public policy, or communication. Students will analyze historic and contemporary political speeches, learning from the most persuasive political figures to craft messages that have the ability to shape public opinion. Interactive workshops and simulations will guide students through researching issues, developing persuasive arguments, and writing with authenticity and purpose to effectively define a leader’s voice.
