Real estate is about more than just buying and selling houses. In this course, you'll explore the commercial side of the industry—how large-scale projects like office towers, apartment buildings, shopping centers, and warehouses get planned, financed, and built. You'll also get a basic understanding of the economics behind real estate—why things get built where they do, how investors make decisions, and how the market shapes the city around us. Along the way, you'll meet industry professionals, take field trips to real projects, and work on a mini team project. While we’ll briefly touch on residential real estate, most of the course focuses on the bigger picture of how cities grow and what it takes to make it happen.
